I weigh too much. Yeah, you’re thinking, who doesn’t? Well, a lot of people actually. My younger daughter’s weight has been below 110 pounds all her life. (And this after 4 children) Yet I can’t loose any. Weight is an elusive thing. Lose it, gain it, but we’re never satisfied.
The word has a certain mass appeal. (yeah that’s a pun). Weighty subjects are discussed by serious students in college dorms, Weight-lifters are worshiped by preteen boys. It is thrown around by people wanting to show how important they are. Others pull their own to prove their worth. And some things carry it when they have significance.
As a measurement, weight proves how heavy or light something is. Unfortunately, some people use it as the only way to measure a person’s worthiness. But please, don’t judge by weight. Pounds don’t matter. After all, an adult brain only weighs 3 pounds. But what a massive thing a mind can be.
